1. Seeing (and Touching) is Believing
We brought a dirty bike to our booth. Why? Because we wanted people to see the difference. A mud-streaked bike with a hot-waxed, crispy clean chain stood front and center. The reaction? š¤Æ
Cyclists ran their fingers over the chain and were amazedā zero grease, zero grime, just pure efficiency. Thatās the magic of hot wax. Itās one thing to hear about it, but feeling it firsthand made the āAlways a Clean Chainā promise click instantly.
2. Liquid Wax vs. Hot Wax: The Big Question
A lot of riders have already switched from oil to liquid wax āwhich is great! Itās definitely cleaner than oil, but hereās the thing: itās still liquid. Liquid wax is less sticky than oil, but it still attracts dirt and dust. Hot wax, on the other hand, is completely dry. That means dirt and grime donāt stick to your chain at all, keeping it cleaner for longer. This was one of the biggest discussion points at Velofollies, and we were happy to break it down for so many cyclists who were already halfway to making the switch to hot wax.
3. A Packed House at Our Panel Discussion
One of the highlights of the weekend? Our panel discussion with Ine Beyen, Greg Van Avermaet, Cyclowax founder Jakob LorrƩ, and Thomas De Gendt. The main stage at Velofollies was packed as we talked all things drivetrain efficiency, hot wax, and performance.
Some takeaways from the pros?
āļø Greg Van Avermaet: āIt just feels better to ride with a clean chain.ā
āļø Thomas De Gendt: āIf you care about performance, you care about your chain.ā
āļø Jakob LorrĆ©: āHot wax is the new standard, and more and more cyclists are realizing it.ā
See you next year.
Velofollies was a blast. Talking to cyclists, answering questions, and seeing the reactions to a clean, hot-waxed chain reminded us why we do this.
Missed us at Velofollies? No worries. We'll definitely be back next year.
